Biography
Opeyemi Abebe is a trade policy specialist in the Commonwealth Secretariat's Economic Development, Trade and Investment Directorate. She has worked in the Secretariat's Trade Competitiveness Section, including as Trade Adviser, and before that served as a Trade Commissioner with the Canadian government in Nigeria and managed a USAID-funded export expansion programme for Nigerian small businesses. She co-authored the Commonwealth's 2026 paper AGOA and Beyond: New Trade Directions for Commonwealth African Countries and holds an LLM in International Trade and Investment Law from the University of the Western Cape.
